Starting with a taster session on Thursday 27 August, we will be offering a block of 7 weekly Yoga classes on Thursday evenings from 7.00 to 8.30pm. Sessions will cost £6 each – pay as you go. Everyone welcome – you don’t need to have any experience.
Come and give it a try! Gentle Hatha Yoga will help to stretch and strengthen your body and release stress so you can relax and rest.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothes. Bring a yoga mat if you have one, and a blanket to keep you warm during relaxation.
Our instructor is Felicity of Felicitys Yoga
Felicity qualified with the British Wheel of Yoga. She has been practising Yoga for more than 25 years starting in 1990 with Donald Butler and now teaches 8 classes a week in the Northumberland/ County Durham area plus occasional workshops at weekends and at British Wheel events. Felicity teaches Hatha Yoga which is a classic, gentle style of yoga, although the practice is as strong as you want to make it! Yoga is suitable for all abilities and no matter how inflexible you think you are you will feel the benefits.
Classes vary in content each week so we can explore the many practices of Yoga – there are so many to enjoy! This includes breathing techniques, simple meditations, postures and always relaxation at the end of the class. These will help you to quieten the mind, let go of stress and tensions & improve your ability to sleep. Felicity enjoys putting together simple sequences of postures to warm and stimulate the whole body.
