Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art based on the ancient concept of Yin and Yang, opposite but complementary interactive natural forces (e . g . Light and Shade, Sun and Moon).

The aim of practicing this martial art is to achieve harmony, balance and relaxation of body and mind. The training consists of a series of flowing movements which are practiced in a slow manner . They can build strength and suppleness, and improve posture, balance and co – ordination of the body .

Yin movements are designed to store energy, while Yang movements to release energy. Tai Chi is also seen as a type of meditation, by concentrat ing to understand how the body feels and moves, to make adjustments as the person practices , to become softer but also more powerful.

Tai Chi is returning to the RTC with Cristina Mircescu as the Instructor. The training is planned for adults over 18, taking place weekly, in blocks of 6 sessions .

  • Each session will be 1 hour , from 10.30-11.30am.
  • All levels are welcome , including beginners.
  • It is recommended that the participants wear comfortable clothing and flat soled shoes or indoor (non – marking) trainers.
