The RTC has a new look Facebook page which is now being regularly updated with news of upcoming events and activities. This page replaces the original RTC Sports Centre, Otterburn group, which will now be closed.

Free Taster Session Friday 16th April 5.30-6.30pm outdoors on the pitches

Licenced FA L2 Coach Mark Gradwell, will be running a 10 week course here at RTC for Primary School Years 1,2 & 3 starting with a free taster session on 16th April (Years 4,5 & 6 will be considered depending on numbers).

We can’t wait to welcome you to RTC, please bring water bottles, shin pads and footwear suitable for playing football on grass.
The cost of the 9 remaining sessions will be £20 per child.

Free Employability webinars for unemployed Northumberland residents CAN is running six Employability Webinars to help unemployed Northumberland residents to develop their job-seeking skills and find work.

Who will benefit from the course?
This series of webinars is suitable for both those who have recently been made redundant and those who have been out of work for some time.

What will I get from attending?
Unemployment can be a lonely and daunting experience at any time and the pandemic hasn’t helped. You are not alone! We can offer both emotional support and help with the practicalities of looking for a job.

Taking part will help you to: build new skills plan the way ahead demonstrate your commitment to finding work to the job-centre and potential employers/training agencies build your confidence cope with the emotional and practical impacts of unemployment give you access to ongoing support on a one to one basis from CAN’s employment hubs if desired. SAVE THE DATE – Macbeth at RTC – Thursday August 12th

We are delighted to welcome Handelbards to RTC on August 12th at 7pm, for a rip roaring, hilarious performance of Macbeth from their all female cast.

Join The HandleBards all-female troupe at the Rede Tyne & Coquet Sports Centre for a bicycle-powered, farcical production of Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’.
Forget the tears and tragedy – this is a frantic, delirious, full-of-beans family show like you’ve never seen before.
This is an outdoor production, so please bring your own chair or blanket to sit on, and dress for the weather!

The bar will be open and food will be available onsite.

New Youth Football Club at RTC

The RTC has been awarded funding from Simply Health in association with Sported to start a Mixed Youth Football club with immediate effect following the end of lockdown.  The football club will offer inclusive mixed youth football coaching on the sports pitches at the weekends.

What’s On North Tyne Youth is going digital! Lockdown #3 means we can’t meet face-to-face, but there is still lots we can do in a safe and fun way online. Get in touch via email (, or text or call (07826 020949) to find out more, get hold of a Registration Form, and book on to our FREE online sessions.

And if you have any ideas for what activities you’d like to do online (social media challenges, party nights, competitions), we’re all ears…We can’t wait to see you!
